Plan Two - Fishing at Serrano River
BreakFast: 4.00 am - Leave at 5.00 am
The fishing day begins at dawn, always timed to coincide with the sunrise over Torres del Paine National Park. Here, there are no rigid schedules: light and nature are the masters. As the season progresses, each day ad- justs to this vibrant rhythm, moving the start time earlier or later depend- ing on how the sun awakens over the Serrano River.
You’ll fish with expert local guides, men weathered by the wind, who know every current, every pool, and every story this river holds. With the park at your back and its immensity before you, you embark on a day that is much more than fishing: it’s wild territory.
The technique will be spinning—active, dynamic, almost instinctive. Here, you don’t wait: you search, you cast, you walk the bank, provoking the strike. Because this river has a king... and today you’ve come to face him...
The Chinook salmon, the giant, the strongest, the one that tests every- thing. Specimens of varying sizes, but all with a power that you feel in your soul.
We’ll use sturdy yet lightweight equipment: rods capable of withstanding the brutal fight against the Chinook and the constant force of the current. Lures like Koster, Toby, and metal variations are designed to work deep, where they lie in wait. Neoprene waders, because the water is cold, in- tense... and many times you’ll be still, waiting for the exact moment.
And the weather... the weather is Patagonia. It can hit you with hurri- cane-force winds, rain, and biting cold. Or it can gift you a day of sun and calm... although, to be honest... that’s almost a myth. Here, everything changes, and that’s part of the adventure.
